Rent a Buggy in Protaras!
Protaras is one of the most favorite Cyprus Travel Destinations and a most popular resort for EU Nationals, especially the United Kingdom and Germany. It belongs Famagusta District and more specifically to the Paralimni Municipality, probably the wealthiest of municipalities in Cyprus, along with Aradippou, Larnaca District.
Although the resort was mostly known in the past as Fig Tree Bay, there are only a handful of such trees some distance from the Sea. Today there exist back-to-back hotels on the waterfront coupled with a No of seaside restaurants, various amenities and watersport facilities. Suffice to mention that the surrounding sea has retained its crystal clear turquoise clarity and Protaras’ beaches are among the best on the island. Travel somewhat to the northwest and you’ll discover isolated coves bitten from the coastline at famous Cape Greko, while about six km’s to the south, there’s the 24-hour party Mecca that is Ayia Napa.
Sunbathing is usually at the top of most visitors’ agendas and hotels and their entertainment have come up with numerous ways of keeping the kids occupied while parents may relax by the pool or resort to water sports and nearby activities . You’ll find the entire spectrum of water sports to choose from, as well as a variety of white-knuckle pursuits such as paragliding and water-skiing.
Apart from renting a Car, you could do with some real fun and rent a buggy for a whole day to explore the nearby areas. Buggy Rental in Protaras is an awesome driving experience that allows you to unwind and along with areas of natural beauty in this part of the Island, there is nothing more relaxing, whilst having fun at it as well!
Protaras is popular with Cypriots and the beaches can get busy (especially at weekends) and anyone wanting to ‘get away from it all’ should head south to Cape Greko. Besides ‘peace and quiet’ the rocky shoreline provides some great snorkeling and Diving in Cyprus. If you want to stretch your legs there’s an attractive coastal path running all the way form Protaras to Ayia Napa which takes in some impressive cliffs, sea caves and a number of Roman ruins. The resort of Pernera lies to the north of Protaras and offers similar opportunities for sun-worshiping with a number of ‘all-singing, all-dancing’ resort complexes.
Although Protaras is billed as a predominantly ‘family-orientated’ destination, it is also a place that knows how to party. Since 2009, there have been 2 to 3 fully renovated modern new Hotspots that appeal to younger people on the Main strip of Protaras. Although music levels at these spots tend to rise after midnight, they tend to be quiet otherwise and blend very well with the surrounding family character of the area.
